Trip Details

Day 1 Arrival at Leh (3500m)

We receive you from a morning flight to Leh. Rest of the day is free to rest and acclimatise.

Day 2 – Leh
Today is free to explore the town of Leh. Situated on the mighty Indus River, it is a peaceful place that sits amongst some of the worlds most barren mountain ranges. We acclimatize further by spending the day here.

Day 3 – Leh to Rong, 3 hours (4150m)
We head south towards the village of Rong today. It’s a drive of a few hours and we get amazing views of the surrounding Zanskar and Ladakh ranges.

Day 4 – Rong to Tso Kar, 5 hours (4400m)
Again we drive a little further south, crossing the Taglang La during the morning. This pass is the second highest motorable road in the world. At 5330m it provides fantastic views in all directions and will give us a chance to test our high altitude lungs. We descend from the pass and continue to Tso Kar. This lake is situated in a barren valley and is a perfect place to watch wildlife. Many bird species can be found here that are rare in most parts of the world. We’ll camp by the lake for the night.
