This trek is aimed at those wishing to combine a first trekking experience in India with some of the more famous sites of this amazing country. The trek itself is reasonably easy whilst taking you through some of the most beautiful scenery in the area. The trip ends with a trip to the famous Taj Mahal and makes it an experience never to forget.

Trip Details

Day 1 – Manali (2050m)
We’ll arrive in Manali sometime in the morning and after checking into the hotel we’ll head straight to the hot baths in the nearby village of Vashisht. After a relaxing morning bath we’ll then head to some of the sights of Manali as we spend the day acclimatising to the mountain air.

Day 2 – Manali to Naggar by jeep, Trek to Muling, 4 hours (2300m)
We’ll leave early in the morning and head straight to Naggar by jeep. We’ll spend a couple of hours looking at the sights of Naggar, including the famous Roerich gallery and the ancient wooden castle. We then start the trek and pass through the lovely village of Rumsu before arriving at our camp on a sheltered plateau.

Day 3 – Muling to Chiklani, 4 hours (3300m)
After a relaxing breakfast we head to our next camp at the base of the Chandrakhani Pass. The trail takes us through beautiful pine and oak forests, large areas of rhododendrons and gives us spectacular veiws back into the Kullu Valley and beyond.
